Bring your horse and join Top Horse Solutions for a 6 day 5 night horsemanship camp at Parrie Haynes Ranch in Killeen, Texas. Learn how you can improve your horsemanship skills and better your horses’ performance.

During the week, you will learn and understand how to correct behavioral issues such as refusing to stop softly, spooking and standing quietly for a farrier, as well as teaching your horse to be soft in your hands and responding to your seat and leg cues.

The camp is designed to be both an educational and fun experience for anyone 10 years of age or older. Both English and Western disciplines are welcome to attend. Each day will be filled with instructional time by equine professionals and fun activities that will improve communication and understanding between you and your horse. Campers will be spending 4+ hours in the saddle each day so it is important that all horses are fit. Each day will be combined with ground, riding exercises and lectures on topics such as horse psychology, horse physiology, nutrition and hoof care. Additional activities and exercises are designed to expose campers to different areas of the equine industry and help campers get to know one another. All campers will have the opportunity to ride on the endless trails that the ranch has to offer.

Requirements

Prior to participating in the Horsemanship Camp, all campers must meet the following requirements:

·         All campers must have previous riding experience and be able to demonstrate basic riding skills.

·         All campers and their parents are required to sign a Waiver of Liability.

·         All campers are required to provide proof of medical insurance.

·         All campers under the age of 18 must wear approved riding helmets and footwear.

Camp Cost

Cost per camper is $800 for the week. This includes tuition, housing, activities, training materials and all meals beginning with dinner on the first day and lunch on the last. Stalls are also included. However if you are bringing your own horse you are responsible for bringing your own shavings, hay, grain, grooming supplies, saddle, bridle, pads and any other necessary supplies to care for your horse.

Parents wishing to look in on the lectures and enjoy some trail riding, but not attend the camp can volunteer as chaperones. Chaperones are provided with housing and meals beginning with dinner on the first day and lunch on the last for $150 for the week. Chaperones wishing to bring their horse will be provided with a stall for an additional $100.
